HOW I GOT MY JAPANESE VISA AT CONSULATE GENERAL OF JAPAN IN HONGKONG

Japan is one of Asia’s most visited destination. Most tourist alike are fascinated by Japan natural beauty, history, food and technology.

To visit Japan, citizens from other countries need to secure a Visa first and Philippine Passport holders are included on the list.

Here I will share to you my experience on getting a Japan Tourist Visa ( Single Entry).

REMINDER: This may only applies for Filipinos Working or Living in Hongkong / Macau and strictly for TOURISM.

Please be informed that if you are holding a valid working permit in Macau (the “Blue Card“), you are eligible to apply at Japan Visa application Centre.

Two ways to apply a Japanese Visa.

B.  Japan Visa Application Centre  – This is the option I used on my Visa Application.

• Before visiting the application centre Book an Appointment first. CLICK HERE
• Prepare the VISA Fee , for Philippine Passport Holder it’s “GRATIS or Free”. But we still need to pay the Processing Fee at the Application Centre for they will process/submit our application to the Consulate. Remember to Pay in CASH (HKD)  only at the application center.
  • Processing Fees: All applicants are required to pay a processing fee when you submit the application at the Japan Visa Application Centre.

STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE

PREPARE ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS

1. Visa Application Form to Enter Japan DOWNLOAD FORM HERE
2.  One passport-size color photo
   • Passport-size color photo taken within 6 months (45mm X 45mm or 2 X 2 )
3. Passport (original and copy)
   • Original copy of passport bio-data.
4. Hong Kong or Macau identity card (original and copy)
   • BLUE CARD for Macau
5. Valid Hong Kong or Macau residency visa (original and copy)
6. Documents showing ability to support the travel expenses (original and copy)
   • 3 months Bank Statement in your name with Original Bank Stamp.
   • CERTIFICATE OF EMPLOYMENT- The certificate of employment must include details of the applicant’s term of employment, destination, period of stay, purpose of journey, the person responsible for the travel expenses, etc. Such certificates should also state the company name, address, phone number, and include the representative’s signature, name and title.
   • If you have a pre-booked hotel or flight itinerary you may or may not present it at the application center.

VISIT THE JAPAN VISA APPLICATION CENTRE

Japan Visa Application Centre

Unit 03, 16/F, 148 Electric Road, North Point, Hong Kong,DIRECTION

Location: You may take the MTR and get off at Fortress Hill station at exit A. Cross the street and walk along Oil Street and turn left on Electric Road. The Japan Visa Application Centre is located on the left hand side of Electric Road approximately 300 meters on the left.

Application submission

Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 15:00 (To avoid long waiting time, we recommend you make an appointment in advance.)

Document collection

Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 16:45

(Closed on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays)

• You may apply Personally or ask someone(proxy) to submit it for you (prepare an Authorization Letter)
• Please arrived 15 minutes before you scheduled appointment time.
• They will handover a receipt to you after submission, keep it.
• You can also ask the staff to return your passport by courier with additional fee.
• Visa application processing will take a day to a week depending on the documents you submitted. Please be patient guys……

AFTER SUBMISSION

• You can Track your Applicattion online.
• Once you received an email confirming that your passport are ready for collection proceed to the Japan Visa Application Centre. Bring the Receipt, same for your PROXY.
• If you have opted to receive your passport by courier. Passport will be returned by Hong Kong Post services.
  • REMINDER from JAPAN VISA APPLICATION CENTRE, Hong Kong Post will make 3 attempts to deliver your passport at the given address. After which, the delivery agent will leave a note at your mail box and notifying you to collect the package at the designated Post Office in Hong Kong.
